Giving

ONT has a special meeting each year to talk about our favorite charities. We put money into a virtual hat and send a donation to the winning charity.

2023 – Salvation Army – Riverside Corps

The Salvation Army is a Christian organization with a mission to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals and communities. Its primary purposes include:

  • Humanitarian Aid: The Salvation Army provides various forms of humanitarian aid, including food assistance, shelter for the homeless, disaster relief, and rehabilitation services for those struggling with addiction. This is of particular importance for our fellow Inland Empire community.
  • Social Services: The SA offers programs addressing poverty, homelessness, unemployment, and other societal issues. This includes job training, educational initiatives, counseling, and support for vulnerable populations.
  • Spiritual Support: As a Christian organization, the Corp. aims to share the Christian faith and offer spiritual guidance and support to individuals through its ministries and programs.
  • Community Engagement: The Riverside Corp is closely engaged with our local communities, including Riverside and Moreno Vally through various activities, such as after-school programs for children, senior services, holiday and assistance programs, and addiction recovery programs.

You may see the Salvation Army at work this holiday season as its volunteers are situated outside of many retail shopping locations ringing a bell while standing aside a bucket used for collecting donations from kind folks.

These donations are used to feed, cloth, and comfort our local fellow citizens in need.

2023 – Bryson’s Journey

ONT decided to donate to Bryson (age 4, in middle of the picture) who was diagnosed in December 2022 with a rare form of cancer called neuroblastoma (stage 4/high risk).  Matthew (Dad) and Tricia (Mom) are self-employed and just opened their own business, Fort Fitness in Laguna Hills, in July 2022 (just five months before learning of Bryson’s diagnosis).  All donations help with medical and living expenses.

2022 – Mikah’s Journey

The group decided to donate funds to Mikah’s journey. In 2018, Mikah’s family found out their 4-year-old had B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He has been through several trials and tribulations, and the group wanted to support his care and better treatment plans. We donated $1050.

2021 – Child Guidance Center

We were compelled to support the Child Guidance Center. The Child Guidance Center provides excellent behavioral and mental health services for vulnerable youth and families. They work with family members, pediatricians, teachers, and all those that have the important role of ensuring all children are able to achieve their true potential. We donated $1300.

After hearing the horrible story of the car crash that killed the parents of 3 children, we decided to donate to the children. We collected and donated $810.
